Problems with version 2.9.3 beta (build 84348)

Hi!

There's something wrong with the latest beta, whenever I try to download more than one file from the same page, AntDM fails to catch  the clicks and I have to try several times before I can finally download the files I want. This started happening immediately after installing the latest beta (might be a coincidence, but I don't think so, since it happens on different pages).

I hope you can look into this.


Edit: this seems to happen more often when you try to download something while a download is still in progress (which has NEVER happened before, I usually download several files at the same time from the same page)

the strange thing is that nothing happens when I click a link, it's like I didn't do it. it's totally ignored.

Please give an example of a specific site.

it doesn't matter. any site will do.
I switched to FDM and I can download normally.

But, if you MUST have an example, try here http://81.234.103.195/mame/

click one file, then click a few more, you'll notice that only the first file is downloaded and the others are ignored.

I have not your issue with the latest beta. Please try to use the today beta.

I uninstalled AntDM and am now using the experimental 64-bit AntDM on Windows 10. It's running well. If your system is 64-bit, you may try the experimental 64-bit AntDM.

yeah, I thought about trying the 64 bit version, but that means I would have to configure everything again, plus I don't know if my current license will work on it.

The license should work. I activated AntDM 64-bit with the same license. Are there products with unique licenses for 32-bit and 64-bit versions? I haven't heard anything like that.

It would be useful to have the ability to export or import AntDM settings.

You don't need to configure anything. Install the new x64 over the old x32 one.

remember that x86 applications go into program files (x86) and 64 bit apps go in program files.
Will the 64 bit installer remove the 32 bit version first?

All our versions are made in such a way that you can install them over the previous ones.
x64 build is no exception.

Ok, I installed the 64 bit version, but:
1. it wanted to install in appdata\local (or appdata\roaming). I had to change that to program files. this should be corrected
2. it didn't remove the x86 version, so now I have two AntDMs installed (pointless)
3. I uninstalled the x86 version and. OF COURSE, I lost all my settings and registration, I had to configure everything again.

The move from 32 to 64 bit is not nearly as smooth as it should be.

Both versions can run on the same PC and share common settings.
One version does not remove the other when installed. Both versions are isolated and do not know about the existence of the other.

The Folder installation to appdata\local (or appdata\roaming) are more secure than "C:\Program Files". This does not require additional system privileges and is less suspicious for antiviruses.

on the contrary, executables in appdata\local or appdata\roaming are WAY more suspicious than on \program files. program files is the normal place for programs, Appdata is not.

This is a debatable question...
For example, chrome installs itself in appdata\local for a long time. The reason for this is that it can update itself without elevation, without user help and UAC messages.

yes, I know that, but it is not the norm. Plus that's the "per-user" installer. The system-wide installer, installs chrome into \program files

that functionality already exists, BTW.

click on the three line menu, file --> export... or import...

I did think AntDM had the option. I double-checked the configuration but overlooked the menu. Thanks for the information.

but, be careful if you move from x86 to 64 or vice-versa, you have to edit the exported file to change "program files (x86)" to "program files" (and vice-versa).

There is an error in moving the language translation. This should be fixed.

what do you mean?

Translation was not imported after settrings import.

but that can be easily configured after importing, I suppose...
