AntDM not dowloading a file

Hi!

Trying to download this ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/1901220040/AcrobatDCUpd1901220040.msp , but antdm fails to catch the download. I have especifically added the MSP extension to the list of extensions to dowload, but antdm ignores it. Latest version 1.14.3 just installed .

Probably you want to download ftp file with help Firefox browser. It works in Chrome.

It's old WebExtension problem (not a bug) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1340547. I still don know how resolve it .
It remains a consolation that ftp loading is a very rare task at present.

yes, I'm using firefox. too bad. will just have to wait for it to be fixed...

This works for Chrome and Firefox.

never mind, it works, you're right. it was another occurrence of the "addons-stop-working-until-you-disable-and-re-enable-them again" bug that has been plaguing firefox addons for serveral years.

I know that this error does occur, but I have never seen such a message from Firefox.
Does Firefox show this message?

hhahahaha, no. I made that up. firefox doesn't show any messages, addons just stop working for unknown reasons until you disable and re-enable them. I would like to know if that is a firefox bug or a problem with the addon itself. it's very annoying, actually. I remember this also happened with the free download manager (FDM) addon.

Ok, Firefox restarting is easier, this should help too.

actually, no. You HAVE to disable then re.enable the extension. (already tried restarting FF when this happens, it doesn't work). is this a firefox problem or an extension problem, do you know? if it is a FF problem, I will report it.

plus, you usually have several pages open and restrting FF is not an option.

I came across a similar problem in chrome.
In Chrome, you need to restart the browser or restart the extension.
I do not have an exact answer, since this problem cannot be repeated and tested. This is rare and unpredictable.

it is not *that* rare. it happens at least once a day. it didn't happen so often before, but it has gotten worse over time.

Firefox extension almost does not change a lot of month, maybe a year or more.

Does this happen with other extensions?
Could there be a conflict between the AntDM extension and some other that you have installed recently?

No AntDM extension issue with old versions or the latest stable version here.

Other extensions installed are password manager and translator.

Browsers are Vivaldi 64-bit and Firefox 64-bit.

I would want to hear from jvidal could this be a conflict with other installed extensions??

A few years ago some users wrote about conflict old Firefox extension v.1 with Ghostery extension. They could not work together. But since then a lot has changed.

I only have a few other extensions installed, namely:
-ublock origin (recently installed, so it's not likely the culprit, sice this also happened before with the FDM extension)
- FlagFox
- FDM extension (but disabled, since i mainly use antdm)
- browsec vpn (also a recent install, so probably has nothing to do with the issue)

Do you still have this problem with FF? every day?

Yes, not so often as everyday, but pretty often. Sometimes it's even worse, the antDM addon says that antdm is not installed! I had to re-install it to get to work again.
The problem with this is that I don't know if it's a firefox problem or the problem is with the addon itself.

Can I give you antFF.exe module to test?
It will check Firefox connection every 30 seconds, if a connection loses then antFF reboot themselves.
Perhaps the native part - antFF.exe loses connection with Firefox or Firefox no longer sends messages to antFF.exe.
Maybe this will help. I would like to find out.
Unfortunately, I do not often see this problem and I can not figure out on their own.

Well, the "antDM is not installed" error is not very frequent, I have only seen it two times. But, yes, send me the test version.

anyway, I replaced the exe with the test version....so good, so far
